Karen Burniston December ZOOM Class

Welcome to our December 2021 Bundle Bonus! You'll be making two cards via Zoom on December 4, 2021. Can't make the live class? No biggie - the Zoom will be recorded and you can watch it back later. (Note - it may take a day or two for the recording to be available) Karen will have your prep work video and handouts posted two weeks ahead of class day to give you plenty of time to prep your kits. You should budget 60 minutes per card on the class prep. The three Bundle dies you will use for prepping for class day are Snowman Pop-up, Iron Fence Pop-up and Word Set 13 - Snow. You'll also need the paper and extras kit you purchased from Scrap Shack. Tools list: a die cutting machine of standard (not mini) size, an embossing sandwich for your machine, removable tape for holding dies while cutting, scissors, paper trimmer, scoring board, bone folder, tape runner, scor tape (or similar) - any size from 0.25" - 1" is fine, strong dries-clear glue in a bottle able to dispense a fine line (I love Lineco neutral pH in a Fine Tip bottle 18 gauge (yellow)), Black and orange pens, Black ink and a paper towel, Blue or Gray ink and a blending tool, Quickstik or tweezers (optional) and zipper bags for holding prepped pieces. Card sizes this month are 4.5 x 5.75 and A7 envelopes will work perfectly for mailing.

Instructor Bio:
I'm Karen Burniston, engineer-turned-designer. My approach to product design is to pack every die set with as much innovation, versatility and function as possible. I design products that I will want to use, over and over again, for all sorts of occasions and in all sorts of combinations. There?s something truly magical about a pop-up card and my goal is to make that magic accessible to any crafter.

I?ve been working professionally in the craft industry for over fifteen years. Pop-up cards have always been a passion, and after eight years of licensing my die designs to other companies, I felt ready to take the leap and launch my own company. As it turns out, my friend Tanya Kostynuk, the owner of Riley and Company was also looking for a new opportunity. We decided to join forces and go in cahoots with each other, creating KB Riley LLC - the official home for new Karen Burniston products.

Make sure you check out all of the Karen Burniston social media channels, including YouTube, for lots of inspiration and ideas.
